Meet some Megastars
Marjorie decided to ‘fly’ her career in a different direction when she left her role as cabin crew to join us on the Management Training Programme in March 2009. After just 6 months with us Marjorie was promoted to General Store Manager.
I was looking for a change of direction when I applied to Toys "R" Us and that’s definitely what they have delivered. My training was intensive and involved visiting stores in different parts of the country but I gained a great all round knowledge from the best in the business which has really served me well. I love a challenge and have really enjoyed learning how to adapt my management style to suit different situations and different members of my team. With Toys "R" Us great results are recognised – I’m running my own Megastore much quicker than I expected but I’m loving it.
Neil joined us from a large out of town clothing retailer as a Management Trainee in June 2007 and was rapidly promoted to his current role of General Store Manager.
When I joined Toys "R" Us I was told that the opportunity was there to progress quickly but I only really believed it when it actually happened. It’s great working for a company that recognises the potential in people and then develops them to be the best and I know that my team really enjoy working for such a dynamic company too.
