Toys "R" Us launched a worldwide presence outside of the USA in 1984 when the company opened its first two international stores in Singapore and Canada, the first UK stores opend in 1985.
Almost ten years later, President George H. Bush traveled to Japan to open their first Toys "R" Us store. More than 20 years after the first store opening, Toys "R" Us operates, licenses or franchises in more than 1300 stores in over 30 countries around the world.

I've been taking a trip on the information superhighway and came across some of our international cousins websites. I've been away from the UK for a long time traveling around the world. I stopped in so many countries for a while to rest my weary hooves - If you look closely you can see me appearing in the website screenshots below.

In 2001, Toys "R" Us opened its international flagship store in New York City's Times Square, which quickly established itself as The Center of the Toy Universeā¢. Replete with a 60-foot Ferris Wheel, a 20-foot animatronic T-Rex dinosaur, a lifesize Barbie dollhouse and a New York City skyline constructed entirely of LEGO.
Toys "R" Us Times Square has become one of the top tourist attractions in the Big Apple for families from around the world.
