Geoffrey's Magical Place - What's on TV?

I’ve been having a rummage around in the archives here at Geoffrey house (great name...!) and found some of my favourite TV adverts that Toys "R" Us have shown in the UK since opening in 1985.
How many do you remember...?
In the early 1980’s 'Walking in the Air' was one of the most famous and memorable records which accompanied The Snowman animated film. It was based on the book by Raymond Briggs where a young boy James builds a Snowman that comes to life. Just hearing the songs words or seeing the distinctive but simple animation style still evokes a real feeling of Christmas to many. In 1985 Toys "R" Us first showed this, their tribute to The Snowman - There is a discussion going on at my Fan Page on Face book about it - apparently there is something very different about our version - why not go and give your opinion?
Arguably one of the most instantly recognised adverts on TV and certainly my favourite - maybe that has something to do with my staring role! Students, workmates and Zoo Keepers still argue over the true lyrics, reminiscing about their favourite toys from 'back in the day...'. Toys "R" Us first showed this advert in 1989...
There’s no need to argue between you anymore! Here are the words to my famous TV ad. It’s a classic, but I still can’t quite believe how many people get it so wrong. It’s a bit like that feeling you get when watching the XFactor auditions, “don’t they know they are singing the wrong words?”
There’s a magical place, we’re on our way there
With toys in their millions all under one roof
– it’s called Toys ‘R’ Us!
Soon after bedtime when dark night-time falls,
Geoffrey & helpers stock up all the shelves,
From ceiling to floor; books, board games & bikes,
teddies, puppets & dolls,
bats, spaceships & trikes!
There’s millions says Geoffrey, all under one roof
– it’s called Toys ‘R’ Us, Toys ‘R’ Us, Toys R Us!
First shown in 2002, one of the Toys "R" Us stores was transformed into a spaceship bringing out of this world toys to children across the country.
Decorating the Christmas tree, hanging stockings above the fireplace and putting out the mince pies for Father Christmas and carrots for the Reindeer are still a much loved family tradition at my house. In 2006 our advert captured this emotive family event.
How does Father Christmas manage to get all those presents made, loaded and delivered? Our advert first shown in 2008 gives some hints about just how he might do it
Arguably one of the most instantly recognised adverts on TV. Toys "R" Us first showed this advert in 1989 and now its back!
